I am excited to be offering private sessions in person and over Zoom. Designed to meet each individual exactly where they are with safe and supportive space. Re-creatable tools for building self-esteem, self-regulation and resilience, not only for the worst day, but for all days! For all ages and all populations. Mindful, kindful adaptable experiences that can be popped into home and daily life. For some children and teens, there is an increase in anxiety, depression, isolation, negativity and perfectionism. While the why is being examined and explored, for me the ask is - how can we support them in building stronger mental wellness? They don't need to be 'fixed', they are perfect and whole. We can support them in learning tools and strategies to help themselves navigate. There is also an increase in these and more across all ages and populations. YES we need to put on our oxygen mask first and we must refill our wells to best give to others. Studies have been linked with a strong sense of self and increased mental well-being. Our own self care is no longer a luxury, it is essential. Please connect with me to learn more at 203-858-6509 or deepplayforkids@gmail.com. If I regulate myself, this may support another I am with to shift their dis-regulation, and together we can share a skillful self-regulation dance to not only survive but to thrive!
A few kind words shared with me:
As the mom of a wonderful son who has Asperger's, Missy has been the most amazing gift to our family. My son has been in and out of therapy and programs for many years. He has never been more seen or understood than by Missy. She is better than any clinician we have used. He also has never felt safer or more comfortable than when with her in her office and on Zoom. She has helped him gain self-help tools, tricks, and strategies he can use now on his own. His confidence has skyrocketed, his mood swings have regulated and his joy has quadrupled. She is an absolute brilliant angel who has empowered him and we are so very grateful ~ Traci C
When my son was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with a chronic disease and had a very difficult time expressing his emotions and feelings. He was often angry, anxious, and frustrated. Together we went to talk to a therapist, but most of the time, he just didn't want to talk. I reached out to Missy Brown because I was feeling hopeless and scared, and she started working with my son, one on one, helping him to regulate his emotions. I cannot thank Missy enough for "saving" our family. After just a few sessions, he was starting to use the tools and strategies that they worked on together, & my son was back to "himself". She created such a warm and nurturing environment, where he felt safe and comfortable to express his fears and worries. She taught him life-long skills that he will forever carry with him, and will use whenever faced with difficult emotions. Missy is truly a gift and we are eternally grateful for the experience she gave our son ~ L.F. Fairfield, CT
Missy is the best thing that has happened to our family and to my son. He struggled in school, with therapists, in social situations and in our own home. Missy's open heart, passion, dedication, inner wisdom and amazing ability to make everyone feel safe and accepted has been a life saver. My 9 year old son expressed that she is the only person who understands him and helps him. He is more confident, less anxious and wishes she could come everyday! Every single child should be lucky enough to be with her. Missy, his developmental progress is much to your credit. You should know that you have made a positive difference in someone's life and I am forever grateful. ~ Kathie, Weston CT
Missy Brown is the best kept secret in town. Thank you for sharing your many talents, enormous heart and the work you do with our lucky family - we love you! You are the child whisperer, Mary Poppins and the Pied Piper all rolled into 1. The permission to be who they are is an invaluable tool you magically weave into anything you share, say and do. I can only imagine how different my life would have been if I had had her in my life when I was growing up. Each of my children working individually with you, as well as us all together, has forever changed our family and I am truly grateful to know her ~ Mom of girl age 9 and boy age 6, Westport CT
As a mother of an anxious tween girl, I do not know what my daughter or I would have done if our therapist had not referred us to Missy. Although my daughter is 'the client', Missy spends as much time if not more with me. She is such a kind, brilliant, generous woman and I also have learned so much from knowing her. Thank you Missy for teaching us all skills and tools to manage the things that life has in store ~ Annie, Boston MA
I can't begin to thank you for all you have done for our daughter. She has suffered and struggled with emotional and physical challenges for much of her 15 years of life and we feel like we tried everything. Thank goodness our pediatrician referred us to you. You are the most kind, patient, wise, wonderful woman and my husband and I are so grateful for your help. You always made yourself available and came up with such creative ways for her to feel better even when limited due to medical issues. As she returns to school she feels she is armed with so many things and so much confidence. The strategies you taught her, and me, have been so useful when going to doctors and hospitals and it's amazing how much less scary it all has become. We are so happy to know you and to have you on our team - L.K. Wilton CT
